About TTC

TCC was founded on the brave notion that everyone who wants to experience higher education should have access to college. Today, that idea has become reality for the many students TCC has served since its opening to the public in Sept. 1965 -- half a million and counting. In the ensuing five decades, this institution has responded to the needs of its community, tailoring its programs to meet the needs of local employers and provide opportunities for local people. The school continues to provide a first-rate education – at a third of the cost of public, four-year universities—and a welcoming, supportive environment for all those ready to learn.

Why Should Study at TTC?

Since 1965, TCC has offered students the opportunity to receive top-notch college education close to home—and at an affordable cost. We’ve educated more than 500,000 students since we started, adding programs, expanding our campus and ensuring that we grow right along with our students.

Campus

Located on a 150-acre site in west Tacoma, the Tacoma campus houses 28 buildings (.5 million sq. ft. of covered area) including a health science center, computer center, learning resource center, art gallery, gymnasium, student center, and Early Learning Center. Our Tacoma campus offers credit and non-credit courses. Located on beautiful Puget Sound and framed by the Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges, TCC offers our students a wealth of cultural and recreational opportunities. Tacoma is located 35 miles south of Seattle.
