About this Program

Open Development Cambodia (ODC) specializes in aggregating data and developing interactive digital maps and datasets. Core competencies in key areas such as life skills, leadership skills, community development skills, digital-media-information literacy, etc., play a crucial role in advancing Cambodian youths in this globalized world. Seeing the value of those competencies, Open Development Cambodia Organization (ODC), is initiating a paid internship program allowing Cambodian youths to equip themselves for their professional life. With that, Open Development Cambodia Organization (ODC) is looking for 3 National Interns both full-time and part-time.

Eligibility

• Be a senior university student or fresh graduate in any major.
• Be positive and committed to self-development against all odds.
• Be committed to having a positive impact on community development.
• Positive attitude in working to meet tight deadlines is required.
• Non-judgmental attitude to work with people with different backgrounds is required.
• Willingness to respect and work within ODC principles and ODC code of conduct.

Expected Positions

• Editor-Research Team
• IT-Website Team
• Data-GIS Team
• Communications and Partnership Team
• Finance and Administration Team

Expected Supports from ODC:

• All three interns will receive orientation sessions from each ODC team/department.
• On-job training and sharing sessions in key core competencies including finance and administration, data analysis, data journalism, GIS and mapping, communication, project management, monitoring, and reporting, research design and writing, web design and development and other IT-related skills such as UI-UX will be given to the interns.
• Personalized mentoring, coaching, experience sharing, and other soft-skill sessions, e.g. leadership, time management, etc. will be conducted if needed.
• Certificates of internship – endorsing skills and knowledge that interns obtain from ODC – will be handed to each intern after completion.

Program Duration

This program is expected to have a timeframe of 6 months fixed and is based in Phnom Penh.
