About the program
The 2025 UNFCCC CAPACITY Fellowship Programme is a fully funded, high-impact opportunity for mid-career professionals from Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs). The program is run by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and provides climate professionals a platform to build international experience, engage in policy development, and strengthen their contributions to national climate strategies.
Eligibility criteria
- At least three years of professional or research experience in climate change, sustainability, or environmental policy
- Demonstrated writing and analysis skills
- Experience working in government ministries, climate agencies, or policy think tanks is preferred
- Language Requirements
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
- Working knowledge of another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is desirable
