About the​ program​

The University of New England (UNE) Scholarships 2025 offer fully funded opportunities for international students pursuing master’s or PhD programs in Australia. Supported by the Australian Government’s Research Training Program (RTP), these scholarships cover tuition, living expenses, and other costs—providing two years of funding for research master’s and three years for doctoral studies. UNE is a well-regarded public university with a strong research focus and supportive academic environment, encouraging outstanding candidates worldwide to apply.

Eligibility criteria 

• Applicants applying for master’s programs should have a previous graduation or equivalent degree certificate.
• Applicants applying for doctorate programs must have a master’s or equivalent degree.
• A second division in the bachelor’s degree is required if applicants are applying for a master’s program.
• Equivalency certificates are required to demonstrate the excellence and quality of research.
• A master’s degree from a recognized institute is required, which includes a substantial research component.

How to apply 

• Check if you have an offer or are enrolled in a Higher Degree Research (HDR) program at UNE. If yes, complete the scholarship application form. If not, apply for admission first via the Future Students portal.
• Submit your Expression of Interest (EOI) and HDR candidature application early to allow processing time.
• Provide two referee reports from academic or research supervisors (not family). Referees must submit reports within two weeks of request.
• Apply during the official round: August 4 to September 19, 2025 (AEST). All documents, including referee reports, must be in by September 25, 2025 (AEST).
• Wait for results, announced on November 19, 2025.
• Make sure you meet eligibility: international full-time HDR student, no conflicting scholarships or income above 75% of the RTP stipend.

• Masters of equivalence degree in case of applicants are applying for PhD degree program
• Supervisor acceptance letter
• Reference letters optional
• 2 Recommendation letter
• Verified with official stamps of last degree will be uploaded
• Thesis copy is required if applicants are applying for the Phd program
• Updated and detailed CV
• English proficiency IELTS or TOEFL if English is not yours first language
